He got thrown into a really tough 125 as a true Freshman and my best memory of him wrestling was at the final home dual of the season he won against Skyler Petry of Minnesota and the crowd went crazy because he had worked really hard all year against guys like Gilman, Thomasello, Megaludis, etc. Illinois won that dual 19-16.

That is grotesque and almost unimaginably selfish for someone to do. I hope the police find him or her. There is an actual killer on the loose.

I agree. That was a tough year for him, but he proved to me he was tough as nails an hung in there. I believe Cortez was supposed to be the 125 that year but transferred. Much prayers to his family. I will donate.
