2017 IHSA Football playoffs - make your picks from list

I put the quarters results to show some past data..
HS football better than college or pros, but like them not commonly close games...Noticeable this year no Montini (out first round) and Lemont who have been common is past years...I recall the privates did really well last year, lots in here but we shall see... - thought it would be more interesting to pick the winner from the quarters than the finals...-appears the other Lincolnways benefited from the 4th school closing - although not for kids who may have got playing time if it was not shut down...- I do not follow it, except for this time of year....good luck to all...

That is pretty dominant in football, but not nearly as dominant as lacrosse...is this the biggest private school in the state? (I heard it could be hard to get into)

Loyola has reached the Class 8A state semifinals for three years in a row and eight times in nine seasons...

Just a side not gents. The trib had an awesome pull out section of every undefeated football team going back to the 30's. Austin won, beat Leo in the first one at Soldier's Field 45k above capacity. Lots of greats, I will try to find a link tomorrow.

I don’t care who wins, just hope for good games: but I will take Frankfort, Batavia, Crystal Lake Prairie Ridge, and Philips. (I noted who these teams lost to if they have a loss - all seem good, the 5A game looks good...the Philips beat the 8A finalist... - they probably don't need 8 divisions for football anymore...

Juan's predictions were 4 for 4, all good games. Last year the privates dominated, this year back to the publics...the announcers usually mention when standout wrestlers are playing, not as many mentions this year...congrats to all. Did not see as many kids that would be obvious D1 players - but there were a few...ave lineman size seemed a bit smaller...

PS,

There was an interesting decision by a coach...Batavia game was in Overtime & they were on defense - the other team was offsides on 1st down...Hub Arkish sp? - the announcer could not believe they took the down instead of backing them up 15 yards...turned out to be the right decision because they held them 3 more downs and won... - possibly learned through their 1 loss - I picked them partly because they had lost once which helps you find your issues sometimes...

The Frankfort game was interesting because they produced less offense but simply made less mistakes...
