Northern Plains

I have read all the information on the Northern Plains. In order to compete, you need to place at the top 6 in Greco or top 6 in Freestyle. What if you only placed top 6 in one of those styles? Can you get a spot at the other style? Someone also said that you have to compete at the weight you qualified at state or 1 weight class higher. You cannot go lower. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

My son won freestyle state at 119 and placed third at Northern Plains at 135. I don't believe you have to place in the top 6 to enter the tournament. Anyone can enter. It is open. And you can compete in either style reguardless of what you did at your state's freestyle tournament. One year Northern Plains was the same day as freestye state so that would destroy all of those options unless things have change in the last two years.

Call Mike Urwin at the IKWF office. He can clear it up for you.

Juniors and Cadets are different. Anyone can compete in teh Junior Northern Plains tournament. For Cadets, you must place in the top 6 in your state tournament.
