Best Central Teams

How about the best Team to ever come out of Central Illinois? How would Minooka's 07 team stack up? We wont count the Moline and Providence teams that were in the central sectional years ago. Bloomington, Morton, Mahomet-Seymour have all had outstanding teams...who else?

What about LaSalle-Peru? They have had some good teams over the years with them M-S and Bloomington battling it out in team sectionals.

But in all those recent great teams them (2000-03), LP could not beat Mahomet in the Team Sectional...

I think L-P's '02 team was the best I have seen lately from them, but some how they lost in the team sectional. I believe Mahomet placed that year.

Even though they were class A that 1989 Mahomet team with 5 state champs (Camden - 25, Hienhold Twins - 30 & 35 , Fancher-52, VanDeveer-71) They also had 3-time placer & 1-time champ Jeff Caster at 103, Mike Scheurich(placer in 90) future placer Brian Hienhold at 112... I am pretty sure they had a handfull of other StQualifiers besides the 5 champs.

Well, was the 89 Mahomet team the best ever from that school or would other MS teams beat them in a dual?

But also, imagine some of the other BHS, Minooka and Morton teams if they were dropped into class A. Don't you think that Minooka 07 could have dominated class A in 1989?

I agree.. with you! That M-S team always sticks out in my mind (I was in 8th grade and kinda idolized what those guys did) I probably have a cloudy perspective since I was so young. I was telling my brother this winter that Sectionals this year reminded me of that team with All the Minooka guys lined up for the finals just like Mahomet back in the day in Class A.

What is the best Bloomington team ever MR. E??

Anyone what is considered the best Mahomet team ever?

Here is what I can find of the '89 - Mahomet Line-Up

103 - FR - Jeff Castor - 3 time placer - 1 time Champ (sr year)
112 - FR - Brian Hienhold - 1 time Placer (sr year)
119 - ????
125 - SR - Brett Camden - 3-time State Champ
130 - SR - Jason Hienhold - 2- time placer - 1 time Champ
135 - Sr - James Hienhold - 1 time Champ
140
145
152 - Jr - Aaron Fancher - 2 time Champ (Jr & sr year)
160 - ?? - Troy Seten - (4th place in '89)
171 - Sr - Roy VanDeveer (state champ in 1989)
189 -
275 -

Mike Scheurich Placed as a Senior in '90 at 145 so I imagine he was in there at 40 or 45

Jason Sargeant Placed at 130 in '90 so he may have been their 119.

Probably one of these Bloomington Teams:
