Stillman Valley vs. Wilmington

Can we get some of the "experts" to give us a rundown on how this match up would go? After seeing SV today, I think they have what it takes to beat Wilmington in a dual. Any other opinions?

Flashy, I have thought that for some time now. With Harvard just coming off the PIT victory and Stillman beating them convincingly today, I think they will open some more eyes. A lot, as you know, has to do with matchups and the like. But hey, first things first. They got to get past Dakota at regionals first.

Not going to go thru match by match by I have SV 39-25 over Wilmington. This is just going off common opponents which isn't always a good judge, but it's all I've got. I havn't seen Wilmington yet this year.

119 Hawley SV over Busy W 12-0
125 Whaley SV over Van Duyne W 15-0 (could go either way,my bet on Tony)
130 Henio W over Patterson SV 15-3
135 Brewington SV over Goodwin 21-3
140 Hawley SV over Evans W 27-3
145 Murphy W over Hicks SV 27-6 (COULD GO EITHER WAY)
152 Glaudel SV over Bailey W 33-6
160 Fritz W over Watson SV 33-12
171 Person SV over Cortney W 39-12
189 Maxwell SV over Cotham W 42-12
215 Bunk SV over ? 45-12
275 Kunkle SV over Dingillo W 48-12
Not quite sure it would go like this but I would definitely give the edge to SV. I think SV would have the advantage in 7 matches, Wilmington the advantage in 3 with 4 toss up matches that could go either way. Could be a blow out or an extremely close dual depending on how many bonus points are earned. Still if SV wrestles down the stretch the way they did today everyone better watch out.

The question now is, has anybody tried to map out how the teams are going to look after regionals? I think I heard Wilmington runs into Vandalia first round in Dekalb. They have already met with Wilmington takin' it to em.

underestimating this wilmington team would be a very bad idea. i have not seen stillman this year, but wilmington is not bad. i dont think they are as solid as last year, but they are so well coached that even when a kid who is relatively unknown is wrestling, you never know what is going to happen.

Are you kidding me?

Do you really believe anyone from from SV is underestimating the Wilmington team or any other team that they still have to face this year? They know they haven't won anything yet and just because a few fans can come on a public forum and declare them a favorite doesn't mean they will stop working. Good luck to all and may the best team win in Dekalb.

I don't think anybody underestimates anybody. I had my first chance to see SV yesterday and from what I saw, they are very strong & solid all the way through the line up. With that being said, I just asked for peoples opinions on what would happen if they met up with Wilmington. Thats is all. I still think Wilmington is the best team in the state, they are solid 103-285 as well. It'll be a fun dual and I hope it happens!
