Has there ever been a state finalist or placer who lost his starting position the next year or couldn't crack the line up?

Everyone believes Brother Cooper will lose his spot at 112 to an incoming freshman but I find that rather funny. Brother Cooper will be a threat to win it all this year at 112 if he continues to work hard towards his goal. Brother Cooper has been to the finals and knows what it takes now to win the whole thing.

What will be interesting for PC fans is who there 103lber will be. If Brocoop gets the nod at 112 where does that leave the challengers. It is a hard cut to 103 and a big jump to 119.

several years ago there was a young man from Mohomett Seymore, Chris Kalopanis I believe was his name? He one the state tournament his Junior year and the Granite City JV tournament his senior year. If I remember, he was class A Champ at 103 and was at a weight with some studs the next year and couldnt crack the line up. He was a good wrestler and a great kid.

How about the situation this year when Cadet National Champion Jahwon Akui had Steve Zimmerman starting - who won state.

That'd be a nice problem to have lol.

Brother Cooper is also very tall and will fill into 119 nicely. His dad is a big guy. I don't have any inside info but I would be willing to bet Klimara at 112 and Cooper at 119. That would make them a much better dual team than vice versa.

PC had a kid a couple of years ago won CCL as a freshman, not sure if he placed but the next year he was not in their lineup or transfered. Something like that...
