First Practice

What is your schools first practice like? Reviewing basics, drilling moves, conditioning, live, etc.

I believe now with as much as these kids train and wrestle in the off-season a lot of schools when it comes to practice can go straight into the grind. Mianly about being in shape to get ready to wrestle the 6minute grind of folkstyle.

Definitely hell week! Practice is harder than the actually duals and the tournaments, takes more out of a person mentally and physically. In the meets and tourneys, adrenaline takes over and thats what everyone practices for. Some coaches practices are a lot tougher than others and thats where a good coach really comes into play!

According to my son who is a freshman this season, they are running a ton. He dropped 4 pounds already and he is thin to begin with. They are getting them ready for 6 minutes, not 4:30.
