Shift of power in the CCL

We all know that providence is the best in the CCL but this year seems to be pretty weak after that. St. Rita does horribly at barrington, MC get absolutely spanked by minooka, and the 2 best wrestlers (other than bobby) for fenwick transfer. Now what im curious to see is how CCL will shake down this year. Maybe St Rita is not a tournament team, and they will be much better with duals, maybe MC is a better tournament team than dual team. DLS has kendall and blaydes, and that is about it. Rice seems to be a pretty good tournament team with march, avalar, nelson, and taylor, but i have not seen nor heard much about MC to know for sure if those 4 from rice can overtake them at CCL this year. Providence will win CCL this year, but now im trying to figure out who can fit the number 2 spot, and right now, rice might take it.

Did anyone see the performance from Rice this weekend? They have some tough kids without big names at a lot of weights. Should be interesting.

I think it will be competitive between MC and BR. In my mind if Providence does not come to play that day then CCL will be interesting. If Providence comes to be the top team that day then the team with the best depth between MC and BR will claim second. SR, DLS and Fenwick I agree have individuals that could claim titles and wreck the new big three's plans....lol...just remember everybody...sometimes change is good...is the CCL up or down...leave it to history to decide...

CCL probably will not be the powerhouse at state this year but i do like the idea of the tournament this year. Most of the weight classes are much more open now than in years passed. Without a futrell, white, ward, or starzyk, other wrestlers finally get a chance.

The CCL for years has had a lot of marquee names...I can't think of many off years in the star department...maybe this year will be a year of new names...very few multiple league champs returning...something tells me Akui is the next 4 timer...

with the lack of experienced wrestlers at 103 he should have a relatively easy time winning state this year then. youd think hed be ranked though.

It is never easy winning a state title in Illinois no matter the weight class or pre state tournament you have won. And a state ranking makes it even harder. Take it from someone that knows this times four...

as soon as he thinks it's will be easy is when he will lose...
