They can potentionally take 11, but after upsets, I'll guess 8-9. If they competed in the Vandalia or Olympia Regionals, the number could be more like 6-8.

Let's see.....
Plano Sectional has 6 #1's, 7 #2's, 2 #3's & 1 #4 Ranked wrestlers for a Total of 16 with 13 of them Ranked 1st or 2nd.
Vandalia Sectional has 1 #1, 2 #2's, 3 #3's and 3 #4's for a Total of 9 Ranked wrestlers with 6 of them Ranked 3rd or 4th.
Olympia Sectional has 2 #1's, 4 #2's, 3 #3's & 4 #4's for a Total of 13 Ranked wrestlers with 7 of them Ranked 3rd or 4th.
The Oregon Sectional is the only one that comes close to being as tough as Plano, it has 5 #1's, 2 #2's, 6 #3's & 6 #4's for a Total of 19 Ranked wrestlers with 7 Ranked 1st or 2nd.
The Plano Sectional alone has more #1 & #2 Ranked wrestlers than Vandalia and Olympia Sectionals combined.
I think the Cats have a shot at getting 11 or 12 out with a real probability of at least 9.

You mean Plano is the only one that comes close to Oregon.

Obviously more ranked kids go to the plano sectional at certain weights. It depends what weight you want to talk about for which one is harder. Anyways, they are both equally tough.

Talking Predictions

130- Hieno over Cowan

135-I'm gonna take Santoro over Vanduyne, great battles

140- Tomac, Evans, Zirkle, 1-3rd looks up in the air, thought anyone?

145-Young takes it over Tuomi in the finals

152- Murphy....then?

160- Odeen, easily...

171- No one is going with Jameel High from Bishop Mac? I think it would be hard to bet against him, he gave Bailey from Wilmington all he could handle in the regionals. 3-1 on a last second takedown. 2nd match will determine his fate.

215-Zinnanni over Murray in finals

No, I meant it exactly as I stated. Oregon has more Ranked wrestlers by 3, BUT, it only has 7 ranked 1st or 2nd compared to Plano's 13 ranked 1st or 2nd. Either way, Oregon and Plano Sectionals appear to be much tougher Sectionals by far than Vandalia or Olympia. The point was responding to the post which said that Wilmington would only get 6 or 8 out if they were in the Vandalia or Olympia Sectionals; just trying to show how much easier those Sectionals actually would be to get MORE through.
Good Luck to all the wrestlers this weekend!

My Plano Predictions

103: Jones, Blechsmidt, Lyons
112: Cartwright, Figueroa, Wolak
119: Lovell, Heading, Hoerler
125: Olson, Gricar, Henley
130: Heino, Cowan, Gillentine
135: VanDuyne, Santoro, Gricar
140: Evans, Tomac, Andrukaitis
145: Young, Tuomi, Anderson
152: Murphy, Stott, Iverson
160: Odeen, Pawlowicz, Courtney
171: Bailey, Struppa, Randich
189: Randich, Johnson, Liaromatis
215: Zinnani, Murray, Flores

I know, a little biased on a few towards the 'Cats, I can't help it. Should be a GREAT weekend of wrestling with some very good and very close matches.

After watching Cartwright wrestle for the last few years and seeing Figueroa here and there, I cant believe Cartwright is going to come out on top of that one. Admittedly, stranger things've happened, and I have not watched a HS wrestling match all year, but it is just my $.02
