Where does the junior class rank?

1a: Nick Harrison Could be a 3 timer

2a
Jauch: could be a 3 timer
Robertson: Could be a 3 timer (4 time finalist)
Baer: 3rd as a Sophmore
Kielbalsa: Could be a 3 timer
Mardsen: Fargo Champ

3a:
Elmore: Second as a sophmore
Oster: Could be a 3 timer
Cooper: could be a 3 timer, 4 time finalist
Luke Smith: 3rd as a sophmore in the toughest weight class in Illinois most likely wins state next two years but Dardanes mite have something to say about that
Akui: 3rd as a sophmore, Double fargo champ

Is this the best class in recent memory?

Uh...no..the best class in recent memory was 2006...many, many "nationally" ranked wrestlersthat are still doing it today on the next level...

Who were some of the guys in that class?

And well, you talk about many nationally ranked guys, but All of the guys I mentioned in 3a are ranked by intermat except Luke Smith, who as you know beat Chris Dardanes (ranked 13th) last year 10-3, and also Robertson was ranked in the first set.

Kennedy, Precin, Ward, Darr, Penny, Hutter, Morgan, Dergo, Hannon, Polz, Bullard, etc. if you want the whole list I can dig it up but that class was off the charts every year from freshman to conclusion....by the time they were juniors most were in the top 10 nationally and multiple time AA's

And they led Illinois to the double - double at Fargo in Freestyle and Greco...

I am not saying the 2011 class is not good but the benchmark of the last decade is the 2005 and 2006 classes...they put Illinois in the top 5 nationally....

I guess only time will tell, as these kids finish their high school careers, and than how they pan out in college.

Exactley...they are just starting to write their story...that 2006 class started in 2002...but I do think the 2011 class is potentially better than 2010...but for now the Dardanes are carrying the flag for 2010...lets see evryone at state and nationals and then evaluate....

The 2011 class is much better than 2010. Only including 3A the 2010 class only has 2 returning state champs (excluding zach Smith), while the 2011 class already has had 2 state champs in Cooper and Oster

This year's Freshman class (2013) ain't bad...a lot of the best are in upper weights so you won't hear about them this year but look for:

Holler - Sandburg
Kennedy - Grant
Whitford - Marmion
Murphy - GBN
Culton - Sycamore
Robertson - Mt. Carmel
Ellingwood - Plainfield Central
Jackson Bros. - Brother Rice

Most of this class wrestles above 112 so you won't see much of them this year but I'd be interested to so how this class ends up as Seniors. Next year's class led by Brill and Cortez should be pretty good too.
