Does anyone know anything about this tournament?

The tournament is January 23rd and there are 16 teams entered...anyone know anything about the teams involved?

Because I was the only person there yesterday, here's how it played out. First it was called the Timber-Trail Tournament. In five years, they are looking at it being a 32-team, two-day tourney. The 16 teams were Timber Ridge, Indian Trail, Aux Sable, JFK, Drauden Point, Barrington (Station), Parkland, Brooks, Troy, Mt Zion, Eisenhower, Lukancic, Gompers, Shabbona, Mercer County and Gower.

This was a great tourney. The teams there all brought some talent. I have to say I was most impressed with Troy - they are solid from bottom to top.

Bandy beat Elliot 9-5 in the finals.

What do they do with the brackets once they get them?

I thought that this was also a great tournament until the end. As a sponsor of the tournament, Timber Ridge should have rolled up the mats after the tournament. It is a long day and for them to have awards after the mats were rolled up by the visiting teams was wrong. Also, why not pass out the awards as each bracket is finished. On a good note, I loved the Special Olympic boy that helped passed out the awards. Nice touch! Nice standing ovation by the wrestlers. Are you going to post the brackets?

I agree...we still had a 2+ hour drive home in the fog and rain after being in a gym for nearly 9 hours. The S.O. kid was great, I talked to him a little when he was at the table out side the gym. Nice place, it will be exciting to watch the tournament grow the way they were talking about. I was very pleased overall.
