Toughest Weight Classes
Although all the wrestling is good at this point, here are my choices for the toughest weight classes at 3A sectionals:
DeLaSalle 135 Mike Avelar, Brother Rice Chepe Mariscal, Morton Tyler Argue, Mt. Carmel Chris Dardanes, OPRF Terry Ward, Hinsdale Central Jack Windmoeller, Lyons (Chris is too tough for everyone, except his brother!) 171 Charles Argue, Mt. Carmel Jahwon Akui David Lutz, Hinsdale Central Alex Ortiz (Charles and Jahwon, perhaps the two best wrestlers @ 171 in the state!) Glenbard North 112 Nicholas Drendal, West Aurora Brandon Rubino, St. Charles E. Jake Schramm, Hinsdale S. Frank Campos, Bolingbrook (Pick one, will be a real dog fight!) 119 Matt Cavallaris, Neuqua Valley Pat Scully, Schaumburg Logan Arlis, Batavia (Cavallaris and Arlis will battle, with Logan victorious!) 215 Rob Bain, Bolingbrook Parker Settecase, Glenbard E. Josh Marchok, Schaumburg Jake Randich, S. Elgin (Wow, top talent here, but I'll pick Bain!) Barrington 112 Joshua Boggess, Mt. Prospect Miko Villanueva, Carpentersville Matt Ornoff, Mundelein Robby Schultheis, Warren Derek Elmore, Harlem (Derek will have to earn his championship here. Tough group!) 189 Lee Munster, Grant Sterling Hecox, Harlem (#1 in the country vs. the ultimate stud, need I say more!) Edwardsville 130 Dan Argueta, Sandburg Blake Montella, Minooka Keith Surber, O'Fallon Edwin Cooper, Providence Steve Murphy, Marian Catholic Greg Jackson, Edwardsville (Surber vs. Cooper, if they get that far!) |

112 at Glenbard
If I understand correctly, the loser of Schramm-Campos crosses into the other side of the bracket. That means he faces the loser of Rubino-Drendel. The loser of that match is out. Looks like B.Gonzalez has an easier shot at placing.

and Proviso West as a whole....i think they only had about 8 guys at the regional......but the guys they had were pretty impressive. Dont know what their situation is, but its a shame they cant field a full team.

This one is pretty intense. We will have a state semifinal rematch in the first round of sectionals. Surber/Murphy.

That weight class is ridiculous! I'm gonna say the top 4 in no particular order in my opinion. Surber, Cooper, Jackson and Murphy. Murphy could be a toss up with someone else like Montella, but if I think if thats the case as I see it, he finishes 4th.
