Southern Hospitality ???
The E-ville Sectionals were tough enough with a lot of great wrestling from all, but it is a shame some of the refs ruin the dreams of kids and it seemed blantant at times. So much so in the final rounds that the refs were remixed because of the obvious sided calls going to the home field on matts 1 and 3 in the semi final rounds. Obviously in the final rounds all wrestlers were going to U.I. including my kid. The kids that got bounced out because of the 2 refs I feel bad for... one match the refs said the SCORERS agreed with their ruled call on a take down with TWO seconds remaining??? I didn't know the time keepers/scorers are allowed to make a call, especially with two refs supposedly watching the wrestling and the clock (I didn't know this wrestler). Just a shame some got screwed out of a fair match when it matters the most.....

I would like to elaborate on specific match's and definitely could but I don't want to mention any wrestlers for fear they would be remembered at U.I. It really doesn't matter now with what happened with the obvious already in place, and I don't want to expose anyone that got screwed that is still in the race...though some decissions changed the real of what should have been. I guess it is the way life is... just hate seeing the kids get the bad deals when they give their all...Some refs need to grow up, look in the mirror, or just get the hell out!

Come on now. Go ahead and name the matches. I would like to know because I was not there on Saturday. I watched Friday night and I saw fair officiating. Of all those matches I never thought anyone got a bad shake. Some of the fans I heard probably would complain though because judging by what they were yelling, they had no idea what they were talking about and always thought their guy was getting screwed. Was I sitting anywhere near you?

Better than what I have seen up North. I'm guessing the match under discussion was Zabel ve Ambrose. Looked like Zabel got a late one, but than denied. |

As I said I didn't know the wrestlers, nor did it matter. If you were there and saw it you know what went on at times. I gave the reasoning and obviously the refs were switched to calm things down. North/South doesn't matter...try and get the call right... the what surely seemed to be favored calls should NOT happen at that stage of game/season....end of story... for now. Sectionals are done.

No difference from last year
I was at the Edwardsville sectional Fri and Sat and saw nothing slanted North or South but I did see some weak officiating at times. But the same could be said of the officiating last year when the Sectional was at Lincolnway.
The best way to avoid poor officiating is to score enough points to take the match out of the refs hands. but when you wrestle a match to win 2-1 in overtime sometimes the ref will make the difference. |

Honestly, I am not taking much stock in your argument because you have only made 3 post on this forum and they are all in this thread. PS: Why did you pick Southern Hospitality title for this thread? Honestly, there was only one official from the south there. Last edited by Southern_Hospitality; 02-15-2010 at 05:59 PM. |

He still won't name the matches. What's the matter, afraid somebody unbiased will disagree with you?
