Kids wrestling takes to the Web
By Brenda YoungRockford Register Star ROCKFORD — Marty Kaiser is finding yet another way to promote the sport of wrestling. This weekend, the former Hononegah coach, will be among four broadcasters offering commentary on 35 championship bouts at the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation state tournament at the MetroCentre in Rockford. This is the first time in the 40-year history of the IKWF tournament that the event will broadcast live via the Internet at illinoismatmen.com, the premier Web site for Illinois wrestling. There will be 826 youth competing for state titles. Wrestlers will weigh in at 4 p.m. Thursday, with matches beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.
