Midwest Bantam Championships

The youth clubs of Westville and Lil Storm are putting on a bantam tournament on February 20th, at the David S Palmer Civic Center in Danville, IL. This is a must make weight tournament. All proceeds will be donated to the Westville High School Wrestling Co-op. Please come out and support a local High School trying to keep it's wrestling program. You can pre-register on www.trackwrestling.com. You can pre-register up to 2/11.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Winners will receive a large trophy along with a 20"x18" completed bracket. There will be 16 man brackets, all based by weights. If the need arises we will have multiple brackets for the same weights. Where available we will attempt to keep team mates separated, unless otherwise specified by a coach.

To clarify, if Joe wrestler registered at 52 an weighs in at 52.5, he or she will be scratched from the tournament rather than bumped up to the next weight class, correct.

There will be a bumb fee if joe doesn't make the 52 pounds, he will be able to bumb to 55 for example. The bump fee will be $10.

Thank you for the quick response. Do you have a pre-reg limit? Let's get this thing promoted! Have you posted to Indiana, Mizzou, Wi, Mich. sites?

Seeding

We are going to use track wrestling's seeding based off their system. Now we will also look at kids we know that are better and reseed if necessary. Obviously I don't want two kids who should be in the championship wrestling first or second round. Hopefully this will make the championship rounds more enjoyable for everyone in attendance, including the kids.

Yes indeed the tournament was cancelled. There was little to no participation thus far and not much more was expected. We were told by many central IL clubs that they were not going to be sending kids to it, as most of their younger kids were done. We do GREATLY appreciate any and all support that we did receive, unfortunately it was going to end up costing us more to run the tournament then we were going to profit from it, which was going to support the high school program.

We are trying to come up with some ideas to support the high school program. Hopefully we will be successful at one of them.

Again we truly thank you for all that showed support.
