He couldn't be at the meet because he was cutting to 145.

Heard through the grapevine that he is having severe acedemic problems(Failing more then 1 Class) and is inelidgible. Hopefully this is not true and he can hold it together for at least the next month. It still suprises me that kids can fail classes in JR. High.

Scrabbler???

LOL!

Actually, it isn't that surprising. A lot of kids have difficulty adjusting to multiple classes and schedules and keeping organized. And, you also have to realize that one bad test or missing assignment and checking grades WEEKLY and it's actually pretty easy to go ineligible. I don't know what the reason is for Nathan to be missing meets. But, two of my boys (ADHD) had trouble in Junior High. NOW, when they get to high school they'll be prepared. The bar is lowered considerably when they get to high school...

LOL! I guess that didn't sound very good! Let's re-word that. The bar is simply set very high at the Junior High level. MOST high schools are far more lenient on kids in High School than at the Junior High level...

Let's put it another way... the IHSA requires you to pass 4 classes, so if you're taking 7, you can fail 3 and still be eligible. The IESA says no failing period. Has little to do with the particular high school.
