Kudos to a Great Bunch of Kids

Last night, I had the privilege of attending Moline's National Honor Society ceremony. As the names were read off, I realized that fully half the wrestling team's starters were present. 5 Seniors were recognized as 2nd year members while 2 of their Junior teammates joined them.

The 5 seniors accomplished a lot in their 4 years. All were 3 year starters. All were sectional qualifiers at least once, with 3 of them making 2 or more trips. All were multi-year starters in at least one other sport; all recieved all-conference recognation in at least 2 sports and all were active in other school activities. Above all, they all excelled in the classroom, with GPAs ranging from 3.5-4.5 on a 4.0 scale; 3 had GPAs of 4.0 or better. As of now, future plans include engineering, pharmacy and teaching.

So a shout out to a great group of all-around kids:

Adam Hay (112) will attend Iowa
Jimmie Terronez (140) junior
Greg Ventris (160) likely will attend Knox
Pete Mickiewicz (171) will attend Purdue
Tim Acri (189) junior
Hans Schaeffer (215) will attend Iowa State
Mitch Kramer (285) will attend SIU-Edwardsville.
