Plainfield Tournament

It was a nice tourney with some really tough brackets that was fun to watch. One bracket had Jessen v. Yates that came down to final 10 seconds. Yates earned an escape to get the victory and then Rowland v Yates in the finals. It was great wrestling. Yates pulled it out but Rowland looked good too. There were a few other brackets with great talent. It was a nice start to the season.

bantam and intermediate brackets were well put together as well, one of our kids intermediate bracket had 3 bantam champs and a 2nd placer in it. another had two bantam champs who met in the finals for a great finals match.

He did a nice job even without a coach in his corner giving him instruction. Hoping to get him to the Force for a fireman's carry clinic.

I liked the matches and competition so I tried to let it go but here you bring it up again. FYI, my son wrestles and practices with his brother who is 16 and a varsity wrestler. This is about what is right for the sport. Seniors should be 13/14. FYI, I bumped my kid to novice at 9 and 10 and he will wrestle senior this year.
Kind of surprised he wasn't in that bracket which consisted of all kids weighing about 115. That would have made it a really tough bracket.
