Best HWT you have ever seen

Based on IHSA accolades ONLY, who is the best HS hwt you have ever seen.

Mine is either Goebel or Hubert Thompson. Goebel is the most technically sound hwt I can remember and Thompson was just a beast. Looked like a man wrestling grade schoolers!

There was a guy I watched in 90-91 named Will Lepsi. I believe from Lyons Township very fast and very technical. I believe he was two-time champ. One at 189 and one at hwt.

Joliet East closed in 1983 due to declining enrollment. That was also the year I was born.

I would say Goebel based on how he did in national tournaments, Iron Man, Cheesehead etc. He dominated competition there.

It was before your time. Gurka was the most dominant Hwt in IL history, wrestled for Joliet East and won back to back state championships 1974 and 1975. He also wrestled Hwt back when there were no weight restrictions. I would also say that he could actually wrestle...not just be really big and strong. Also he was the AA champ, back when Class A was really weak. Nothing against Goebel but he couldn't beat the tough 215lbers in the state.
Never heard of Joliet East? I guess you probably don't know who Jarrett Hubbard from Joliet West was either, eh?

anytime goebel wrestled someone good who knew how to shoot he would loose for example his senior year forgot where the kid was from st eds mayb kid weighed 240 and gobel wasnt athletic enough to stop his low single
