Polo Regional

OK. No one else has so I'll bite. This will be THE toughest regional in THE toughest sectional in the state. What's new. IMHO...4 top 10 teams.

4 good teams turns into a 2 team race with Le Wins and Stillmans depth. Dakota was probably the frontrunner until late season injuries took their toll. Byron is just a season away. 132 is the deepest weight where 2 ranked kids could very possibly finish 4 and 5. 152 is the most wide open where I do not see a SQ. These 2 weights could very easily determine which team advances to meet Harvard(who should win their regional by 150 points)

Team predictions
Stillman
Le Win
Byron
Dakota
Rockford Lutheran
Winnebago
Durand
Polo
Genoa

Stone from Rockford Lutheran already beat Stoddard and Hagemann in a duel this year, he'd be smart to bump up to 138, seeing as he could probably make it out.

I believe that Knutson from Lena dropped from 152 to 145. Also, McPeek from Lena will probably win this regional at 132, but then again, anything can happen!!!

I know, I was there. They were both tightly contested matches that could have gone either way. 132 and 138 are both tough at this Regional. While it may be easier to qualify for sectional at 138, it may be easier to qualify for state at 132, especially considering a couple potential qualifiers will be eliminated this weekend. I guess it just depends on what Stones goals are.

Was not aware of that. Looking at it, while it may be better for Knutsons chances of qualifying for individual state, I don't think it does LeWin any favors team wise. He would probably win 152 and will have a harder time doing so at 145. Who do they have to fill 152?

There is a freshman/sophomore from Lena, Bonvillian, that wrestled at the Stillman Holiday Tournament. He may fill in. I'm just going off what I've heard around the grapevine
