I am not trying to take a shot at the kid, but just trying to offer some perspective here. Outside of Flagg that side of the bracket looks wide open. I wouldn't be surprised to Riportella gets 4th, but assuming that he would make the finals if he were opposite side Flagg is irresponsible imo. I don't think he would beat Jacobo, Henderson, or Peters.

It is confirmed now at 112 it will be Timmons and Heller in the semis with the winner getting Roach

I think that's whats going to happen to RIP. He's going to be thinking about his championship match (that he think he will be in) and then he will lose to someone that nobody knows about like Edmonson from Sterling. |

Wheeler is from Dekalb Huntley and not Rosette and yes he is a first year wrestler, he has improved by leaps and bounds since the season started

Riportella
Just because he lost last year doesnt mean that he cant win this year, its a whole new year, the reason everyone thinks he could win is because he has wrestled very well and is 32-0 or domething around there this year he had pinned every kid except three but he pinned two of those three in later matches

jacobo is tough and well rounded. expect big things. riportella is a man boy--expect big things! he's a great wrestler that is strong as an ox. he makes great wrestlers look bad. the kapitsky I saw last year wasn't anything worth talking about. now he's a great wrestler. a year will do a lot for a wrestler.

Rip has had one tough match this year and that was against Gieck in an exibition match. Rip was giving up around ten pounds and that match ended 3-3 with Geick taking Rip down at the end to tie it up. After last year at state I'm SURE Alec isn't looking past anyone.

I would view only having one competative match all year as more of a concern. There have been plenty of wrestlers wrestling up a weight class or two all year getting very competative matches and they should be battle tested. Having said that, I am cheering for Riportella to do well this weekend and I would love to see him make the finals.

I still stick by a prior statement I made on another thread. I would love to see Broyles go at it with Flagg. However Broyles moved this year. Would have been a hell of a match-up!
