you cant compare him

That is complete bs and so is the benefiel and beebe thing and I have watched a hell of a lot more practices and meets for montini than you have total matches in your life I promise you. There are a couple kids who could have been aa. Being all american is hard theres 80 a year out of the entire country. Benefiel got in trouble. Do you think Eric siebert or Tom Arlis would have prevented that or tutored him? Maybe if mikey was coached by a compelte wrestler he would have gotten better grades? Thats stupid. His lack of success is because he made bad choices not because he didn't have the right coaches. He had izzy coach bu the experts at overtime. When you are a man and mikey is you take responsibility when you fall short. Believe me he isn't sitting at home right now wishing he went to CS or GBN. That is just not an accurate statement. And in closing since Albert White who out of everyone of the wrestlers listed in this thread has the best credentials a 4xer all in aa, since he hasn't aa'd does that mean St Rita is underachieveing? That is all. And JD I feel like your analysis on this was the most factual and realistic I have ever seen on this topic, which to mee is a good topic btw.

As for Bennefiel , early in his college career he had 2 chances to become a AA, both times he missed the AA round because he was rode out for huge chunks of time. He didn't spend enough time escaping and riding in hs or when he got to college. The grades issue was just this past year. Cubs you never want to address this topic and want to just make excuses and talk about other teams that dont have many AAs or how hard it is......thats understable because it is a weakness of Montini. You talked about the wrestling room. Thats very interesting. Because here is my observation.....I used to go watch the workouts at Giese....JD used to go there as well....lots of Montini stars would go there as well. After Giese would teach some technique the kids would wrestle as long as they wanted. I always noticed that the Montini wrestlers just wanted to go takedowns. But kids like Fanthorpe wanted to keep wrestling well after the takedown was established. |

Not as hard as being a child in Penn States locker room.

I mean no disrespect to the Montini kids that would go to Giese. But they were much more interested in wrestling on their feet. That was an obvious observation. Izzy did spend some time at Iowa....but I don't think he ever actually wrestled a match for Iowa? My guess is that if Izzy wrestled D1 he would probably put more emphasis on mat wrestling? And then you would see our best hs team have more AAs when they get to college. |

he couldn't score a point on you but
he was very Jackie Chanish when it came to running walls.....he would get a full head of steam and run straight at a wall and turn the corner and keep running sideways on a wall for 25ft.That was funny to watch. LOL
