The real key was getting back to basics, positioning and being content with scoring 1 while keeping your opponent off the board. It was obvious to me that was the message reiterated by the coaches when Brooks throttled down on a kid he clearly out classed.
Making the highlight reel is nice, but 1 pointers win big matches. When the fireworks stopped, Illinois won the grind it out matches. |
