How can you put Mahomet up there above DeKalb when they have lost to DeKalb at reed custer and Clinton?

Bloomington did finish ahead of Parkside at Mahomet's Invite. That is a better indication of how they will come out at state than the dual result.

Best State Teams
To get a top four finish in state a team must have a few key elements and a little luck. The team must have some studs that will go to the finals. Without a few really good kids, a top four finish is tough to do. The team must also have kids that get a low medal or have a big group of kids that win one to three matches. Luck is important too. Getting good draws can make a big difference. Also consider the sectional that the team comes from. An easy sectional could mean more kids qualifying for state and more chances to win matches.
Consider: A few high quality kids Other better than average kids that might place 4,5,6th Easy Sectional Luck of the draw Look at last year's results: 1st-Bloomington-a couple of finalists, and some good kids that got into the 3rd place match. They also had a lot of kids scoring points. 2nd- Mahomet Four high quality kids with several other kids winning matches. 3rd-Canton. A few high quality kids and an easy sectional that allowed them to bring a good sized contingent of wrestlers that won one or two. 4th- DeKalb Clinton Rosette- Similar to Mahomet, high quality kids with several other kids winning matches. So who has the squad to do it? Bloomington- A couple really good kids with some support- tough Sectional. this sectional may hurt Bloomington/Mahomet's chances. Mahomet-A couple really good kids with some support- tough Sectional DeKalb Clinton Rosette/Huntley- The Dekalb teams are the best in the sectional and should take the most qualifiers. Both Dekalbs have good kids that can get into the finals. Rosette has won several tournaments. Rosette may have more support kids witch will give the an edge. Canton-A couple really good kids with some support- very easy sectional. Should get a lot of kids out. They don't see the tough competition that some of the top teams do. This fact hurts them every year at the state meet. New Lenox- Has a lot of qualifiers last year and has done well at tournaments. They have a few good kids and a very easy sectional. Chatham- A couple good kids with some support- very easy section the only team to hurt them will be Canton. Should get a lot of kids out. I'm not sure they have the really high quality kids that will get to the final. East Peoria- A lot like Mt. Zion last year. A few really good kids with no support. They are also in the Sectional with Mahomet and Bloomington. Parkside- They have a couple of good kids that have only lost once or twice. They come out of a tough Mahomet\Bloomington Sectional. They may not have as much support as Mahomet or Bloomington. Sooooo, who will win????? |
