I agree with most of your picks, but ....... have you seen Jordan Blanton wrestle ? If you have, it is hard for me to imagine that you REALLY think he won't qualify.

103
Alber Mathieu Hannon 112 Peterson Andrikaitis Scully 119 Lawton Latta Howard 125 Walk DeCapp Hollowell 130 Holder Loy Myers 135 Baker Schwartz Gosa 140 Johnson Brady Hinzman 145 Olsen Kindelsperger Lind 152 Blanton Bird Graybill 160 Troye Connell Sacco 171 Wenger Ebert Stott 189 Winterhalter Norberg Schultz 215 Hafflenger Nicholas Blanton 275 Cain Bodi Stack I believe that 152 is by far the toughest weight class, and i believe 275 is by far the weakest. If Cain is the #1 ranked 275 wrestler, which i think he is the best in this sectional, then that weight class is all around poor this year. Looking at the other side of the coin, maybe we have been spoiled by the likes of Wise, Babcock and Soria through the years, and Cain is better than i think. Maybe i am out all by myself at 135, but i really think Baker is going to put it all together at this tournament. |

Most of These Picks
I agree with most of these picks, but I have say that I would look for Milks to definately make a showing at 135. Also, It's gonna be very tough for Connell to get through at 160. He barely beat Doescher at regionals and literally fell into a pin in the finals. Saw Troy wrestle the other night and he definately looked like he was at the top of his game. He should take 160 and the rest is up for grabs.

at 119, Mike Benesh could very well stir things up. He makes it to the semis pretty smoothly from the looks of his bracket. He then gets pichardo or latta. Has beaten both of them as well as lost to them. should be interesting. And at 160, connell needs to step it up lik ehe usually does at the right times. He should have vetter in the semis and the winner goes! the loser gets sacco or troye for 3rd. I also agree about 135, but I think milks beats shwartz to go down state. Winner between gosa and baker makes it down, then the loser would wrestle milks or shwartz foir 3rd. I see schwartz staying home this year with a 4th place, but anything can happen. And walk and decapp should be a better match, decapp better not come out thinking he will do what he did last time... he needs to keep a attitude and do his thing to do that again. and I believe at 130 meyers and holder in the finals with loy at the 3 spot. Good luck to all wrestlers this weekend, it should be as good as it looks as it will. Good luck cardinals!

Schwarz not Schartz
Great foursome at 135. (Goza, Baker, Schwarz, and Milks. I would think the Oregon regional final might be the top two, but nothing would surprise me here whoever gets left out. Troye does not look like someone who is going to lose at sectional. It would be a major upset. He has shaken off the football rust he showed at the beginning of the year. There are so many quality kids that will be left at home this is going to be one of the most meorable semifinals in recent years. Some weight classes look a little weaker than others like 171 after you get past Wenger. 140 does not have great depth either. Johnson will blow through this weight class. 130 is much stronger with the 4 champs (Loy, Myers, Holder, and Lahman) all being strong and depth with Hollowell, Wenger, Pontnack, Schaver and especially Warlop. Amazing. 145 is similar with Olson, Lind, Kapraun and Mthesius and depth with Kindelsberger Sojka and Swanson, but does not seem quite as good as 130. The bottom bracker at 152 should be a meat grinder with Pieritz feeding into Blanton and Kuebel into Graybill just to get to the semi's. And finally 189 Young, Norberg, Winterhalter, Schultz, Mamman, Canales, and watch out for Ibarra the NCIC champ he is surprising.

this is just my opinion but I see Olson from Dakota at 145 as highly over rated believe me do I have my reasons, I can see Swanson from E.P.
making it out at a weak weight. Also Malott from Rock Falls is definetly tough, but Blanton has proved himself over and over again, esspecially with his win against Dorn. Schwarz from Rock Falls has improved a lot, I can see him pulling off a tight match with Baker. At 112, Loy is definetly over rated, and Sean Scully from Amboy should make some noise, not win it all but #3 is right there, I see him taking Sonneville without too much trouble. Whos knows but maybe Brock Hollowell at 130 for #3? haven heard too much about him this yr. |

Overrated?
How can you say Darren Olsen is over rated. State Qualifier as a freshman and 3rd @ 130 last year @ State, also he beat the State Runner up last year @ 140 (Luke Taylor) 7-4 at Orion Tournment.
