Officiating Review

What did you see from the officials today? Any newcomers to the speed and pace of the state level tournaments?

I watched the Rock Island Regional yesterday. Disappointed with two out of the three officials. I know these guys are trying to do their best, but not up to the standards that I hoped to see at a regional.

Woodstock Regional

Two out of the three at Woodstock were terrible. On top of that, the table worker at the finals table screwed up the clock repeatedly and even made a decision in one match to ring the buzzer early because he forgot to start the clock. Over all, I would say this was poorly officiated and run. A real disappointment for the kids. Too bad.

Mather Regional worst officiating ever. Had to stop the match because he could not keep track of the points he was giving in my 8 year career I have not seen that once.

the one ref with the mullet at waukegan was horrible... he would wait til the guy was nearly flat to start calling back points, he never called stalling the whole tournament, and you had to have the guy completely flat for atleast 1 min before a pin was called. The other two refs were great.

Two of the three at Sycamore were poor. The short guy was bad, but at least he asked the head ref for help on a few calls.
