It has come to my attention that the party is over in Gibson City. They will be giving the trophy back. What comes around goes around. The people who defended this man will look silly. Seems his poor judgement isnt just related to the match at hand. I do not want to reveal names or exact specifications because it is not right but lets just say his "house" isnt in order. I'm sure the school will C0-OP erate with the Ihsa. This is bad karma at its finest but of course it doesnt help Porta. By the way who was it that said this was over and done and the IHSA doesnt take back trophies?

no not a personal attack on him, because I am pretty sure that the problem wasnt caused by him rather the administration. I just think what comes around goes around is all.

Do you have proof or is this just another rumor? Until I see the trophy gone, I won't believe anybody. I can't believe Coach would use an ineligible wrestler. Did the admin drop the ball and not know the wrestler was ineligible?

I cant believe a lot of things. I cant believe a guy would take a dive. I cant believe a dad would throw another kid. I cant believe a regional could be miscounted. But yes I believe the admin dropped the ball.

exactly but this isnt like the throwing in the towel incident. Unless Im way off this seems like a paperwork mistake.

What is the NEW situation? What does his homelife have to do with this? Just trying to gather facts here. Does anyone have any NEW facts? Why do you say he is going to have to give the trophy back? I am just trying to make sense of all the previous posts, [please help] :O)

This situation is fairly simple. GCMS had intended to co-op with Fisher High School in wrestling. One of the wrestlers for GCMS attended Fisher. Unfortunately for GCMS, their co-op was never approved by the IHSA (paperwork oversight?). So, this wrestler was ineligible to wrestle for GCMS as he attended another high school. This wrestler was actually in the lineup vs. Porta. Since GCMS used an ineligible wrestler, they will need to forfeit any meet he was in, including dual state. The 4th place trophy will be taken back with 100% certainty. That's the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
