EVANSTON, Ill. – Mitch Sliga and Conan Jennings continued their hot starts to the Big Ten season when Northwestern took on No. 13 Michigan on Sunday at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Sliga got the Wildcats on the board at 184 lbs. with a 13-2 major decision over Aaron Calderon. Sliga, ranked as high as No. 20 by The Open Mat, has won his last three matches and five of his last six. He is 15-4 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten.

Jennings has also won three in a row and ran his Big Ten record to a perfect 4-0. He wrestled an entertaining match with Dan Perry and had a 10-3 lead in the third period, when he stuck Perry for the fall in 6:03. Jennings is 14-7 on the year.

Michigan won the other eight bouts for a 38-10 win.

Every match was decided by bonus points except for Jackson Striggow’s 6-3 win over No. 15 Jacob Berkowitz at 197 and Sal Profaci’s 7-3 decison over Alec McKenna at 141.
