BLOOMINGTON • Washington came into the 2A Dual Team championship match with something to prove—but the only people they were interested in proving anything to was each other. The Panthers, after taking down Mahomet-Seymour in the quarterfinals, and then wrestling through Wauconda in the semifinals, were only left with a matchup against the one team they were looking forward to, number-one ranked and defending 2A Dual Team state champions Joliet Catholic Academy.
Head Coach Nick Miller has always embraced finding the best competition possible for his wrestlers, and Saturday night in Grossinger Motors Arena, he needed to only go forty-five feet across the mat for his programs next challenge, and their biggest test this season. To top it all off, a win would secure a Dual Team State title.
