Mark A. Pyle, 43, of Mulberry Grove, died at 2:05 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Temple Baptist Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Loren File officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, rural Fillmore. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour before services on Wednesday, both at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Temple Baptist Church or FAYCO Enterprises.
Mr. Pyle was born on April 25, 1965, in Vandalia, the son of G. Kenneth and Verna M. Harnetiaux Pyle. He married Tammy M. Elmore on May 16, 1989, in Ankeny, Iowa.
He was a lieutenant at Vandalia Correctional Center. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, he served as a Republican precinct committeeman for Bear Grove, was affiliated with the VYO Football Program and coached IKWF wrestling.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Cody and Trever Pyle, both at home; daughters, Nicole and her husband Donald Rine of Vandalia, and Chasity Pyle and Kayla Elmore, both at home; parents; mother-in-law, Edith Elmore of Vandalia; sister, Lisa and her husband Terry Otto; and granddaughters, Dezsiree and Destinee.
