I've read the court's opinion in Dominion v. Fox News. On the previous page of this thread, I found a bit of wisdom from Huff and this quote from oldpioneer which apply to the Dominion case:

" ... that’s what happens when you compromise your morals to go along with the crowd."

In a nutshell, that's what will cost Fox News billions of dollars in the Dominion defamation case. You see, after Fox News called Arizona for President Biden, there was a boycott of the channel. Their viewership dropped to record lows. Newsmax gained about 500% in ratings points. Rupert Murdoch and all of the Fox big heads panicked. They made a business decision to spread the "Stop the Steal" lies to keep viewers.

That is basically what Huff Hall and oldpioneer have been warning you about for 127 pages: Don't compromise your morals.

This is pleasing to me because of the irony involved. Fox News is caught in a defamation trap. Fox News gave Trump and its viewers (like Mal) what they wanted to hear. Fox compromised its morals and journalistic ethics. Now, if that defamation trap springs shut, there may no longer be a Fox News. Thanks, Mal!

They compromised to get through the day..........but life is a marathon. I was funny reading all of the texts with them admitting they had to go along for the ratings. I knew they knew. It is only really shallow thinkers that go along with everything the orange man says. Btw, I am worried about MAL. Haven't heard from him in a while. I thought I heard his voice on the recording of the Star Spangled Banner from Cell Block D in Washington. Also interesting, white conservatives are now concerned about prison conditions........interesting, all of it. Great post Chief....

I know that it is completely unpopular to say this, but I like Joe Biden and Bidenomics. The unemployment rate is at 3.6 percent, which is near a five-decade low. Around 13 million jobs have been added during his administration. There hasn’t been a single month while he has been president where the U.S. economy lost jobs— 30 consecutive months of job growth. The Chips Act signed by President Biden has set the groundwork to build a half dozen semiconductor manufacturing facilities in our country, and private investment in new manufacturing facilities in the United States is in the hundreds of billions of dollars. The administration is working to combat junk fees that are tacked on at the end of transactions for tickets or hotel rooms. The stock market, meanwhile, had a 13-day winning streak, the longest string of advances since 1987. In addition, U.S. consumer confidence reached a two-year high, and GDP rose at an annual rate of 2.4 percent last quarter, better than economists expected.

The biggest economic knock on the Biden administration is inflation, which is cooling off. Our country has the lowest inflation rate of any of the G7 nations, and one could argue that the United States right now is in better economic shape than any other country in the world. China, of course, is mired in an economic slump with no end in sight. And those who would argue that inflation would never have happened under right-wing leadership should check out the disastrous inflation rates over the past two years in Hungary, Brazil, Turkey, and Russia—all governed by strong right-wing leaders. The inflation rate in Hungary was an outrageous 21 percent in May 2023. Viktor Orban has crushed liberalism in Hungary, but has no clue how to handle the cost of living. Orban, by the way, is the guy the GOP invited to CPAC last year as the keynote speaker. He’s a rock star to MAGA, even though he’s a complete failure on economic policy. What a joke.

I understand that not everyone will share my Biden enthusiasm, but that’s okay. If a certain percentage of independent voters agree with me about the positive direction of the economy, it would be bad news for MAGA in 2024.

Whew! I am worn out and pissed off. When I heard Trump was going to finally release the proof that the election was rigged last Monday I immediately planned a road trip. I loaded up my Dodge ram with a hemi V8 and put 2 8’ foot Trump flags flying off the back. I headed straight to Philadelphia. Getting 4 miles to the gallon and headed to the four seasons landscaping company because I wanted front row. I knew MAL was right all along… so I pull my truck in there and the guy says, are you here for the brick and the mulch? I was flabbergasted. I said, “no, sir! I am a Patriot!” And the guy responded, “sure pal, and I’m the quarterback for the Eagles!”

And then I had to turn around and drive all the way back. Those flags really hurt you at the pump. And I passed a lot of those hybrid and electric vehicles driven by people who don’t love their country. See I looked at it This way. I went through 4 32 gallon tanks of gas but I did my part of supporting the US oil executives so they can continue to donate to the GOP so I feel good about that.
