OP, speaking for myself, I am not saying the hell with old people. I am saying that they are not dying of Covid...at least in the numbers that are being reported. I have said this before, but it is worth repeating. On the CDC website the last comorbidity on the list was intentional and unintentional injury...that means car crashes and suicide. I have read reports that claim that if you have the antibodies...meaning that you have recovered from Covid...and then you die, you will be counted as a Covid death. I have posted on this sight, Mayor Bill de Blasio stating in his own words, that they were counting people that were never tested for Covid as Covid deaths. I have heard Governor Cuomo stating something very similar to that, but he was equating each death with money that New York would receive. Hospitals get paid more for Covid Patients. If you couple all of these things with some common sense it should tell you that the 400,000 number is at the very least a little high, if not almost a total fabrication.

LT, My first impression of you before you even said your name is that you were an arrogant dick. I was right. But you also seem bitter......It must suck to live as both.

MAL, I had the thesis bound and dedicated and gave it to my mother. She has since passed but I think it should be at my fathers house. If you ever have trouble sleeping it can help. LOL. The topic is critical thinking and then I wrapped that around a unit lesson for the Texas revolution. The one thing you may find interesting is that general Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna had a wooden leg. He actually had a funeral for his leg. During the Mexican American war it was found in his abandoned carriage by US soldiers. I came across a picture of it and noticed the caption it said courtesy of Illinois historical Society. I had to find the leg! On the way back from Houston I stopped in Springfield for the day to look for it. I started out at the library and ended up finding it at Camp Lincoln. Now it is on display at the museum in Springfield but they were building it at the time and they had it in the vault in the basement. When I told him I drove all the way from Texas just to see it they actually let me in the vault, hold it in my own hands, and take pictures of it. It turns out that it was an Illinois regiment of soldiers that found it and they just brought it back with them without permission. Mexico wants the leg back. The United States said they would trade it for the original flag that flew over the Almo that was captured. Mexico said no deal, so the leg is behind glass with his uniform in Springfield to this day.

Hey hey! No offense taken. People can only make you feel inferior with your consent. I don’t remember giving anybody consent. But our new leaders have made us all come together. One in particular, Bernie Sanders’ mittens! Now we are all united. I have seen him in classic paintings, All sorts of situations. A friend of mine had a copy of an advertisement that our band used in college. It was just a picture of us in front of a dive bar all sitting on my 1977 Chrysler Newport that I bought for $400. And guess what? I didn’t realize it but she put Bernie in that picture as well. Last couple of nights me and my friends were riffing about it and laughing but I’m kind of over it now but I will tell you what, if a kid does not show up to the award stand downstate next time, I know who is going to be there! LOL

There is a syndrome that I have experienced many times in my life. It is called “teacher envy.” I honestly didn’t experience it when I started in Houston. When I told them Exactly where I taught, 2nd ward, just off Telephone rd. people said, bless your heart. But after that it was mostly about summers off. Yes sir! 2 1/2 months off for the summer, two weeks at Christmas, one week spring break, with pay! Thank you for the compliments. But here’s the thing I will never understand. Every time I say hey, I’m from Missouri, show me! And I offer people the floor. I can’t find any takers! I have even offered people to come up to the school all they need is to scan their drivers license and go through a metal detector. As long as they don’t have any felonies they could come to my class. But all the criticism stops right there. See teaching is the easiest job in the world to criticize, it is a little more difficult than most people think. I will tell you this, I just received word that our high school had a math teacher quit last week. Feel free to PM me and you can sign in online for a real good time. In fact, there’s a teacher shortage in America. All the people with all the criticism you would think they be standing in line to get on the gravy train. But they don’t. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what that means. “It is not the critic who counts.......”

It is becoming clear that the Dems overplayed the pandemic and the Pubs underplayed it. It turns out overplaying it was the winning move. Now just how much it was over/under played remains to be seen. All I want to see once the final stats are tallied is a month by month death total in the U.S for 2019 and then the same for 2020. I do not care what is listed as cause of death. Give me an accurate total death count. That is all I need to see. Then in a year or so the same stats for 2021.

OP unfortunately the individuals that are the teachers are getting a bad rap because of the words and actions from the teachers unions. Eye, I have a funny feeling there won’t be much of a difference between the 3 years. And no matter how it’s spun, over playing it and destroying the lives and livelihoods of millions and hurting children who should have been in school all year will go down as one of the greatest travesties in our history. Everything is opening up now 3 days after inauguration. Anyone with a lick of self thought knows this was all about removing Trump.

I disagree in that I do think we will see a difference in total deaths over those 3 years. Not a dramatic difference but significant nonetheless. LT can I ask you to clarify something, When you say "this was all about removing Trump," I know or at least hope you're not implying that this pandemic was a sinister plot by liberals and they actually carried it out? I'm assuming you're saying that once the pandemic hit they then decided to pounce and politicize it so they could use this to oust him? Cause if it's the former that's some MAL level conspiracy theory **** right there. And let me be clear I'm not saying you're wrong whichever it is, I'm just trying to truly understand your position
