But I'm sorry, I'm not going to recognize Lockport, a team that has never even made the trip downstate, a powerhouse.

guys don't tarnish providence. It is just Pike boy. Other Provi people realize the guy is a loser. They told me in person. Providence won on that Saturday, you won the rematch today. Let see who scores more at state. With that being said, If you get past Minooka, I will cheer for provi again! For now, Go Indians
Also another big cheer out for Lockport as they won state today in bowling. Yes, I said bowling.

You're just a big crybaby; crying because Lockport lost at regionals.

Minooka usually loses to PC by 50 points, but maybe this year it'll be closer.

        Loooooosssssssssssseeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

Maybe this is why the IHSA has a bad way to pick the teams to represent regionals in the dual team state championships. After all it is individual regionals. I do believe Lockport can beat any dual team in state on any given day. I am not saying they are the best but they can wrestle with the best on any given day.
Honestly I think Lockport is a better team than Providence! Just an opinion of course! Prov may have better depth across the lineup (which should be expected from a private school) but I find it interesting that Lockport had the most qualifiers out of the sectional (honestly could have gotten more). HOWEVER (THIS IS IN CAPS FOR A REASON) PROV BEAT LOCKPORT WHERE IT MATTERED AND THE PROPS GO TO THEM FOR THE TEAM SECTIONALS!!! For all those critics of the RV regional, I think it is clear now what the best regional was!!! The same as its always been. Good luck to all at state. (Esp for the RV regional!!!)

Remember the old saying...It's better to keep your mouth shut and have people THINK you're an idiot rather than opening your mouth and PROVING it.

A Lockport/Provi dual would be fun to watch. They each have their share of studs, but I think Provi would win.

Rather than stoop into the abyss of negativity... I would like to Congratulate the Porters on an impressive weekend. Good Luck to all of them at State!

Illinois's State tournament team duals need to improve. They should start with 32-64 teams, and find the true team champ. A team and individual tournament is two different things, so treat them that way. Don't blame PC for the system, let the IHSA know, and why rip people on this posting it won't change the IHSA system one bit. Good luck to both programs, and all their kids. P.S. - three straight years PC was probably the second best team in the State, but they couldn't beat Sandburg in the sectionals, so they never seen the state finals tournament!

Can someone explain to me why it's not allowed to compare Lockport and Providence?

No one is arguing that Lockport has a longer, more successful history than PC. All they are saying is that Lockport this year was an equal (or close to) team.

Before someone chimes in with "how can you say that?", the proof is in the regional. If it comes down to a finals match at 215 to determine who the winner is, those two teams are relatively equal and deserve to be in the same conversation.

Congrats to PC for another successful run to Sectionals (not state yet) and congrats to the Porters (and their six state qualifiers) for a strong showing and season.

Comparing is fine, but it won't change the system. Only the IHSA can change the system!!!

But Lockport still lost the regional, so it's foolish to say they would defeat PC in a dual, or place at state, when they won't be going to state.

I still think Minooka, Oak Park, PC, Montini, etc, would all handily beat Lockport in a dual.

The state dual meet format is flawed. How can you say that Lockport would lose in a dual until they actually dual them. The regional champ gets help from other teams and is an individual based tournament that takes the combined points of the individuals to select a team winner. That is so backwards.

Why is Illinois the only state that does this? Because the IHSA does not understand.

Probably, possibly, maybe are all words that apply to a Lockport vs PC dual but until it happens it is just a dream...

Right on, Mr. Twister, Illinois needs to catch up with the rest of the Nation, and have a true 64 team tournament, and find out who the best dual team is! The best team in this state this year is Montini, and they provide it in the National spotlight. After their showing this year they will be invited back to the "Big Boy" tournaments!!!

Pike Boy, I for one like to follow Providence. I also cheer for them at times. BUT I do realize Lockport and Providence have met three times this year. Once at Dvorak with Lockport out scoring Providence. Once at regionals with providence out scoring Lockport. Sectionals with Lockport out scoring Providence. So the way i see it Lockport is up 2-1.
