Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor. (OMERTA)

I thought the IHSA didn't reveal state pairings in the past because they were slotted and based on a blind draw.
I am not saying he would do it. I am saying that there was some talk of that at DLS. It would not be about facing Klimara in the future...it would eliminate him from the bracket and guarantee Drendel a slot downstate. Plus it would make the bracket a lot easier for everyone because you know that if Klimara gets back in he will not lose again...I think....

Thanks folks, but he has not won anything yet. To end any speculation, Nicholas will not "take a dive" tomorrow. I would be ashamed of him if he did. I am pulling for another win and another opportunity for Eddie Kilmara. In my opinion, he is still the best 103 pounder in the State, though he is not my favorite 103 pounder. .

That was very classey. Yes you are a lawyer but your a smart dude for saying he hasnt won anything yet. Theres another day of sectionals and another week of wrestling for the individuals. I will say this will be Nicks biggest mental test yet of how does he react with the win. Does it give him the confidence to take on zeus or did he fufill his goals? those questions can only be answered at this time of the year which makes wrestling the best sport.

Agreed. You've got to get up, go back out there, and do it again. I have nothing but respect for Eddie Kilmara. He wasn't the consensus #1 at his weight for no reason. In a sense, I feel that Nicholas owes it to him to win the next one, and I hope he does. Davis is no slouch, and anyone who is looking past him would be a fool.

It is also a long road. One match along the way is not the destination. I saw a lot of good wrestlers wrestle what could be their last match of their high school career tonight. That is always bittersweet to me. I wish everyone wrestling tomorrow the best. This sport is more than wins and losses, but the wins are great, and the losses stick with you like a bad cold. In the end, it is the journey that is the prize. Good luck to all tomorrow.
