If you don't go to your back and get pinned you wont be embarrassed. Cant wait to see all the upsets this weekend. I am predicting 4 major upsets

      The match of the weekend!!!

On a side note, can you still use the word caught when it happens twice in one match? How about three times? Can you get caught three times to make a tech? Just curious.
He didn't get caught. He was turned twice in the second period, and the second time he was pinned. Will Kilmara get pinned again? probably not!!! Who has a better chance of winning the 103 pound Illinois State Championship, Kilmara or the kid from West Aurora? Kilmara will win the State Championship, if he wins his first two matches.

Probably the only thing you have ever said that I agree with. I know I have watched the match quite a few times. It was very entertaining. I bet we all wish we could see Joe Williams, Joey Gilbert, or T.J. Williams one loss as freshman.

We saw this one, and life goes on.

I am sorry but this thread is stupid!! I don't think posting the video of an incredible wrestling match on a wrestling forum is disrespectful to anyone. I do think all of the crap that Nick Drendal has taken for getting lucky and catching Kilmara is disrespectful!! It was a great match!! Way to go Nick for beating a tough opponent and showing that you were the best wrestler on that day. This weekend may tell a totally different tale and the outcome may be totally different but I bet you can be assured that if there is a rematch Drendal will go out there and give it his all. If anyone has ever watched the Drendal boys wrestle they are incredible throwers as are many of the West Aurora wrestlers. I don't know as there was anything but skill involved when he pinned Kilmara.

Besides that, let's start giving brackets out to all the wrestlers who make state, and better yet, let's get small trophies for all the kids who make sectionals from now on. And let's not forget the medals, we should give medals to every kid who comes out for wrestling at the beginning of the season. Just more of the sissification of athletics and society.

Take the purses off. We are developing young men, young warriors who are molded and carved by the adversity and trials that they face in life. So Klimara got pinned at sectionals, so what. It's a loss that every high profile wrestler will face and probably have shown on flowrestling or you tube or on Illinois matmen. It is a good trial that i'm sure Klimara will use to fuel him to the state championship this weekend. And if and when he does win state, either this year or in the next three, do you think he will care if there is a video of one of his losses to go next to the fifty videos of his destruction of another young wrestler who came across his path.......NO. He will probably laugh and be thankful for the loss that propelled him on to greater things in his career. We learn more from the losses than the wins. Should we take down all the videos of him taking apart other wrestlers........NO.

Cut the cord, he'll be fine, actually I'm sure he'll be more than fine after Saturday.
I agree. Drendel will be fine. Klimara will be fine. Settle it at state if need be. This time winning means something more than it did last time. I am just glad that I will be there to see the matches, all of them. Everyone relax, take a deep breath and let the boys, ahem...young men wrestle.

No question the most discussed match of the week and a great one to watch, on a lot of levels. Perfect example of what can happen anytime, to anyone and the lessons and motivation from that match are great.

And, it was a big deal: A guy who is a casual wrestling fan come blowing into my office yesterday asking me if I had seen the Drendel/Klimara match and how awesome it was to watch, and how he was going to watch it with his 8th grader last night. There was no disrespect involved - just the opposite. A great match between two tough kids. Period.

This is a lame thread... Guess what? People get beat and pinned all the time on video. If you cant handle it, dont wrestle.

And the threads during that time stayed open and White and Roth took the heat and the praise....both times.

I still see him as a kid. A kid who had a setback trying to do something he loves. Something that a lot of folks on here give him grief for. More than he deserves. Take nothing away from what Drendel accomplished. He'll have that for the rest of is life. Same with Eddie's misstep. There are plenty of good ways to share video with out of town family without them somehow ending up on the Illinoismatmen.com front page. It wasn't put on the front page because it was a great match. It was put on there because Eddie lost. I'd rather not subject a 14-15 year old to that treatment unless you can't avoid it. Same reason you don't show the dead bodies in a car accident. Yet that's what everybody e-mails each other pictures of sometimes. Post the match, everybody wanted to see it myself included but front page? Way overkill. Is this what every good wreatling kid in Illinois can expect every time they make a mistake? Is it too late to sign up for basketball?

I agree, it shouldn't have made it to the home page

I don't see any problems with posting it to YOUtube, and putting it on a thread, but it is not appropriate to put it on the homepage of Illinoismatmen. We don't do it for others, but since Admin runs the site, and Jaguar is a chosen moderator, we don't have much control over that.

I like both families, but I just think it wasn't in good taste. Let it go, Nicholas impresses me tremendously as does Eddie, but keep it in a thread only.

It's not a question of if you can't handle it it's a question of why should you have to?
