  • Hoffman Estates?????

I have always respected the way that this program has been run while competing in a very tough conference. Just saw that their head coaching position posted, and wondering if this was a fall out from what happened during sectionals.

I dont want rumors or slander just some info on a program and staff that I have enjoyed watching compete.

He was not fired...Bill turned in his resignation. He was suspended from coaching...and then quit. I heard this directly from one of his coaches.

With Gruzska the head coach at Schaumburg and Pat basically growing up with him, it would make sense.

Scully lives in district for HEHS thou, so I don't know what the rules are there...

The rules in that district are that you can pay a certain fee to the township, in this case Schaumburg, to have the student attend another school. Conant had an overflow problem in the early 2000's because parents were sending their students (athletes or not) there because of how experienced the teaching staff was at the time. Lots of those teachers had been at the school almost since it opened (most have hit their retirement age now) and those experienced teachers were damn good at their jobs.

Interesting to see Hoffman have that opening...would've thought an assistant would move up.

They would still have to post the opening. You never know how the assistant's loyalties might be tested. There have been quite a few of the assistant coaches that have left the program over the years and gone other places. Hope all the best in the search.

The normal IHSA requirements would either have to move in school boundries....or change his legal guardianship. Not sure how those rules apply with an in district change. The IHSA usually frowns upon transfers for just athletics.

Well, by looking at Montini, we all know that is Bulls***

All the kids who trasferred to Montini did it "legally". They moved in district, or changed legal guardianship. The IHSA approved every transfer or the kids could not wrestle. The IHSA will pretty much deny any transfer request that does not meet their requirements stated above.

where did Palatine High school come from? Is he looking to continue to coach? It would be kind of hard for Scully to be the head coach at Palatine High School being that Danny Collins is running the show there. I guess he could be an assistant, but that's obviously a demotion.

There are ways around any rule if you look hard. Montini does a good job of crossing thier T's and dotting thier I's but not all kids really move or change guardianship. They just do it on paper and that is all the IHSA cars about. If they did home checks a lot of schools would be in big trouble.
