PS Twist can we get this thread back on topic?
Who says we are off topic. We are discussing if Akui and Max can be included in the discussion. Hang in there mac...you'll catch up...lol.

I have already stated that Whitford is my pick so if I was bias would I insist that Akui is the most dominant?
Oh Boy! That's quite a leap you're taking there Twist...

In fact, let's put this in perspective based on results. Whitford majored Gosinski in the Dvorak finals, and majored Pearce in the state finals.

            Marsden at Conant:
Fall 2:00, fall 1:21, fall :58 (semis), fall :28 (finals)

            Dvorak:
Fall 2:49, fall :35, Maj Dec 17-5 (semis), fall 3:12 (finals) over Joe Gonzalez, LT AAA state runner-up

            Fox Valley Conference:
Fall 1:20 fall 1:40 fall :58 (finals) over AAA #5 ranked Cody Churkey

            AA State championship:
            Fall 4:14 fall 2:21 fall 2:48

            That is just plain brutal!

Unless you like him. It is OK to have biases. I have a bais towards Whitford, and he usually supports it/backs it up. Two touraments this year he didn't wrestle well, but the results helped cover up one of them. He is still one of the best most dominate wreslters in the state.

If a kid is a good wrestler and great kid it is easy to have a good bais towards them. If a kid a an average wreslter and a dick, it is also is also easy to have a "bad" bias towards them. Just don't let your bias to hurt a kid.

Ben Whitford is a very dominate wreslter. Ask the 130 pound 3A state champ, if Ben is dominate. He wrestled bad for himself at the western suburb tournament and the Cheesehead. In the Cheesehead he still won the tournament, which is saying a lot. He lost in the finals to Avalar at the other tournament. He wasn't mentally ready for the match and didn't wrestle well, so he wasn't dominate on that day. He wreslted well at the Ironman, Dvorak, and through the state tournament series.

LaManna came out and caught him off guard and then kept pressing the action. You could tell Johnson was out of sorts and realing to get a grasp of the situation. To go into the third period that far behind, screw his head back on, andput it into another gear was amazing. Then to tie it up, put LaManna on his back again and pin him was one of the greatest state come backs I've seen.

I'd agree with you that he looked like a powerful kid. Pinning your way to the finals and then dominating your opponent in the Finals is no small feat.

Brutal? There is no word for that kind of torture.

Another criteria situation...Original poster did not say you had to be undefeated or had to be dominant in ALL matches, did he?

I don't believe smith gave up 1 takedown this year and congenie gave up a couple when he sort of gassed in the 3rd against Brooks.

I like all of the wrestlers. It's the adults that I have to decide if I like or not.

No, but when you say "most dominant" I think it implies somebody who was undefeated and clobbered most of his competition. At 44-0 and I don't know how many falls, I just can't think of another wrestler in the state this year, at ANY class that crushed his opposition like Marsden.
When I think back, John Starzyk had a season at 119lbs his junior year where practically nobody touched him...and he was a pinning machine!
