  • Hononegah vs Mt. Carmel

I see Hononegah won this dual 44-25. I know MC had Denne and Mickens out because of football but anyone else? Looks like Hononegah might be tough this year

Hononegah had 5 pins and a tech fall over Mt. Carmel (106, 138, 152, 160, 182, 195) and finished the night beating Barrington 37-18...

So doing the math, barring any major decisions, that means Hononegah won 9 matches. Which 5 weights did MC win?

        Very Tough!!!

They are every year!! I'm doing a podcast with the mastermind behind the creation today. The guy knows how to build a wrestling program. Hall of Fame coach Marty Keiser set up a program that will sustain itself for years because of the youth program and the people that surround that program on a yearly basis. Listen in and hear what it took for him to get a program to the level that it is today.

Current Head Coach Justin Weiman, is a great coach that wan'ts to win and I am lucky to have had the opportunity to spend a year learning from both of them! Good luck the rest of the year guys!!!

Check out the podcast in a few weeks @ thedaltonbullardwrestlingpodcast.weebly.com

Hononegah is tough. From what I heard yesterday. MC was missing 5 kids, so it may of been alittle closer but I believe Hononegah still wins.

The question is how Honoegah will fare vs Harlem...that is the REAL rivalry.

I know Worker did not wrestle and Jackson did not wrestle. I am not sure who the 5th person is.

Hononegah has a few of the top frosh/soph in the state. And so does MC with Worker, Mickens and Tucker.
Tucker with a big win in a matchup of diaper dandies.

MC was notably missing Denne, Jackson, Worker and Mickens. Definitely a better showing with those guys in the lineup.

The interesting result here is the margin of victory for Hononegah in light of Keegan Powers losing by pin and Manny Silva not being in the lineup.

Tucker is a great wrestler, but I highly doubt you see that result again should these two meet in the future. All evidence would suggest that these are 2 very evenly matched wrestlers, but that's what makes this sport so great. Pins can happen even between two accomplished wrestlers with similar talent.

Manny Silva will return in the coming weeks and make this team even stronger. With Silva in the lineup, it's very likely that some bonus points would have been salvaged in a matchup with Brill. I doubt MC would get 6 in a Brill-Silva match.

I agree that the Hononegah-Harlem match will be one to watch. It figures to be even more competitive than in recent years. This may be the year that the pendulum swings back to Hononegah's side. If not this year, then certainly next year and likely for years to come.

Jackson and Mickens each would have faced a state qualifier from Hononegah...

Why didn't Jackson wrestle? Does he play football for MC?

                          Hononegah?

Hononegah is tough, they wrestled great! If we had our full lineup, we'd need some help with Falls, etc. to beat them. If you know me, I am straight shooter and we would need a lot of things to go right to knock them off. It's just the facts.
