Usually some one is figuring it out as we speak. Officially the IHSA will release in a couple of days once they double and triple check everything. Many of our veteran posters will be ahead of the game and have something online by in the morning.

Who knows? The IHSA has the keys to the car and we are just along for the ride on that one. I am sure there must be one such as record, common opponents but every time I think the IHSA will do something that makes sense they fool me. Anyone else know the answer to his question chime in...

I won't be able to get downstate this year. What broadcasted coverage of the state individuals can we hope for this year through any source? Any info would be great. Thanks

Usually they are released late Sunday or early Monday.

First you need to figure out the 4 seeds of the sectional champion. After that, the bracket should look like this.

                #1 Seed Sectional Champ
                4th Place to #4 Seed

                3rd Place to #2 Seed
                2nd Place to #3 Seed

                2nd Place to #2 Seed
                3rd Place to #3 Seed

                4th Place to #1 Seed
                #4 Seed Sectional Champion

                #3 Seed Sectional Champion
                4th Place to #2 seed

                3rd place to #4 seed
                2nd place to #1 seed

                2nd place to #4 seed
                3rd place to #1 seed

                4th place to #3 seed
                #2 Seed Sectional Champion

The seed points are listed by the sectional champions in the results on the IHSA website. Here is the criteria

Returning state champion at that weight class-35 points

Returning state champions at any weight class-30 points

Undefeated wrestler (minimum of 20 matches)-20 points

                  37 or more wins-15 points

                  32 to 36 wins-10 points

                  27 to 31 wins-7 points

                  22 to 26 wins-5 points

Returning 2nd or 3rd place winner at that weight class-25 points

Returning 4th, 5th or 6th place winner at that weight class-20 points

Returning place winner at any weight class-15 points

Returning state qualifier at any weight class-10 points

If tied for a place, flip of a coin would
determine the seed of the wrestlers for
placement of that seed on the bracket, except
for the number one (1) seed and if the
returning champ at that weight class is tied for
the number one (1) seed, the returning champ
will be seeded number one (1).

What if a #1 seed is not a returning champ? For instance 106 Yates and Silva? It is very easy to figure out the bracket if you know the seeds.
