      Cheesehead-152lbs

It's going to be a great tournament. There are 3 major national ranking services that I consider: WIN, FLO, and INTERMAT. Some wrestlers are ranked in all 3, 2 of the 3, or just 1.

Parriott was at 160lbs at the Minnesota Holiday Tournament, he lost to Berge, 3-1. I think he'll go 160lbs again at the Cheesehead just to get another shot at Berge. Brock Morgan was at 145lbs at the Clash. All 3 of the national ranking services have some wrestlers in the wrong weight class, it takes time for them to get everyone in their respective weights. I believe Kraus is at 145 now too.

At 152lbs, expect to see Jake Allar, Trevell Timmons, John Prieto, and some other solid kids competing. Allar took a couple of losses at the Clash, one loss was to Mikey Callahan.

Looking forward to a great weekend of wrestling.

Seems to me that Sandburg, MC & Lockport are all better dual teams than tourney teams, hopefully, the fact that this isn't straight double elim will help them represent how good they really are.

Not sure that's a negative. The best teams in HS seem to be that way. A team that's great in tournaments should be even better in duals, where they get to work together, right?

None of those teams is struggling in high level tournaments so far. Sandburg trounced the field, which included OPRF, at the Whitlatch. I don't think they get enough credit for this btw. MC placed every single wrestler and took 2nd at the Dvorak ahead of Mason and Montini, who took 4th at the Ironman, and both are considered elite tournament teams. Lockport just placed 7th at the Powerade.

The Cheesehead is a monster tournament. Still, those are pretty good tournament credentials, no?

Not sure how you can say that a team that's good in tournaments should be equally as good in duals?
Often a team will have 3-4 really strong wrestlers who can win or place at a tournament and have a good tournament result.
That same team might not be strong at the remaining weights due to injury or just lack of depth and struggle in duals against a balanced team with a full squad.

That was kind of my point. Montini finished 4th at the ironman, I doubt they could beat any of the teams that finished in the top 15 of that tourney in a dual. Other way around for Sandburg, MC & Lockport, which have quality at just about every weight, but maybe only 1 or 2 would place high at Ironman.

But looking at this tourney I don't know how they score it. So these teams with quality up and down the lineup might fare better in this tourney than say the Ironman(a standard double elim tourney)

in your mind he wasnt registered? he went to weigh ins and you drove from twisterland to rockford yet he wasnt registered?

Rather than endanger himself he just kept going with normal clothes and workouts. Till after midnight on Mon and right up to weigh in on Tues am. He was .1 over.

Nobody was more surprised than I was when he called half way into my drive to Rockford lol. I was so comfortable with his weight I hadn't even called to check in. It would normally be a slam dunk.
you are delusional if you think their is any difference between showing up, blowing the scale, and un-registering while leaving a hole in your teams lineup than there is making weight and going 0-2 barbeque its the same thing.

you dont get a free pass for giving your team ZERO team points just because you were .1 over because the osmosis in the "recovery process" reversed itself. FYI... their was a kid from another team who was over who cut his hair and created a pair of lightweight underpants out of a t-shirt because his own underpants weighed too much and he made weight. he earnd his team 16 points which moved them up 1 spot in the standings

One of my favorite memories from wresting many, many years ago was our 98 pounder standing on the scale while one of our coaches kept cutting his long hair until he made weight.

I would have done that had I been there, and we would've needed a heck of a lot more than 16 points to move up a spot. You are beginning to sound like someone with an axe to grind rather than a neutral anonymous poster, so I think I'm done responding directly to you.

None of us is playing games here, or making light of anything, but neither is this WWIII or the nuclear apocalypse. We have given the proper respect, and our team has moved on with proper perspective.
