Ah James...was not criticizing your work...I was only pointing out how difficult it is going to be to get people to spend their money to get this funded. If you and the people that requested that you do the project want to ensure that it gets done...I was merely suggesting that you look for corporate dollars to fund your $3000 video. Everyone is so thin skinned in this forum. Heaven forbid someone have an opposing view or opinion.

Technically yes. He rustled in middle school but was on JV then quit 7th grade year because he still hadn't won a match and was getting beat up by all the younger kids in practice.

Agreed Lloyd...James is taking the wrong approach...the $655 to date is speaking volumes. We have too many democrats in here accustomed to the hand out. How about this...create the video...use the Jumbo Tron as your free commercial...and then sell the video for $49. Those who like your work will buy it...those that don't...won't! Free Enterprise. You earn it...you get it! Not funded by everyone that may or may not like the final product.

We can't sponsorships on the Jumbotron because the IHSA has contracts in place that forbid that. Or else that's what we would have done. We have done 8 Jumbotron (never did the IHSA give us a dime for them) and I know how to do my job. We have a lot of new people here I think, who may not have seen how this video is done. Which is fine. The only reason I'm doing this because I was asked to and if it doesn't get funded, it doesn't get funded. I was approached by several people last year who claimed that they could help get it off the ground financially. We aren't making a profit doing this and we can't sell it afterwards, all I can do is post it for free because I legally don't own any of the material. So if anyone else not in the media business would like to pretend they know what they're talking about I'm all ears.

Help us or don't help us, it's the beauty of something like this.

as for the product...if you haven't liked it in the past, you probably will find some reason to not like it again.

While the video is entertaining and helps to fill a void on the jumbo tron...it is a tough sell for the casual fan to pony up any money to support it. In order to represent all 672 wrestlers in the video for just 15 seconds each...you will need to create a video that is close to 3 hours long.

So if I can not see Johnny for 15 seconds...why would I spend any money on the project...with today's technology...I will use my Iphone and capture the moments for the family to enjoy for years to come! For Free!

Now if we can find some advertising dollars from the Illinois companaies...maybe you can raise the money to pay for the video production. I do not see this project being funded by the fans.

I would probably tell the "casual fan" then to not donate to it. I am pretty sure they will get the three thousand to do the video, and I would highly recommend you not watch while it's playing because your "little johnny" probably won't be in it because this sport is about winners, not whiners and from what I see you do alot of the latter.

And for the record the fund is now 1/3 of the way there in just 4 days time. I think it'll be just fine.

Im sure you are going to be fired up to write some absolutely ridiculous reply to my post which is fine, but I will recommend not wasting your time, because it will catch about as much of my attention as what kind of toilet paper I wiped with this morning.
