I disagree. Anyone brave enough to step on the mat and compete is a WINNER! There are no losers in wrestling.

Agreed. Any topics that may hurt someone's feelings should not be discussed.

If people (adults) want to know about upsets they can look them up.

I wholeheartedly disagree about the criticism

I want to know who upset who...
I don't follow things that closely and it saves me time and creates a sense of community

In UTB, unlike the rest of the match, the first stall call, becomes simply a stalemate. The second call is a stall. If the offending wrestler has already picked up a stall warning, the point is awarded to the other wrestler and the match is over. These are usually called because the wrestler is trying to keep his opponent down below his knees. At the CCl, Coleman defeated Stiles in the UTB. Coleman had no stall warnings. Stiles took down and when he tried to get up Coleman grabbed his ankles. The referee blew the whistle and called a stalemate. Coleman new that he he had one more time to do this, because next time it would just be a stall warning. ctdad, I apologize if you already knew this, figured that someone reading this may be confused on how violations in UTB are called.

I am an adult and I am looking for upsets that happened yesterday on the internet. Who would have thought that the best place to find information about Illinois high school wrestling is a website called illinoismatmen. Sorry your son didn’t qualify for sectionals but it happens. And yes there are winners and losers of matches just ask some of the men who didn’t qualify for sectionals.

Why didn’t Estrada (HM) or Villar (#8) wrestle at regionals?

Noticed that as well. Would have been a tough sectional with them there. Weight issues? One struggled in that past with that if my memory serves me correct.

That's to bad. Seems like they should move up and wrestle close to their natural weight.
