It's Gervais and the "feeder" program you speak of wasn't feeding anything to Marist. You clearly aren't close to the program if that is your take. They used the facilities for free. Never once supported the program with any of the money they collected, allowed other high school kids into the Marist room, allowed other parents to recruit kids to competing high schools. That program, in my opinion, was completely disrespectful to the school that supported it the most. Removing them was a great thing for Marist. They have their own kids club, its growing within the neighborhood, and its run by the Marist coaches and a few of the Alumni. The Alumni base is fine, minus the few people whos feelings got hurt. Remember their alumni base stretches over 30 years of success both on and off the mat.
Sometimes difficult decisions have to be made and it takes time to rebuild. The current coaching staff is doing a great job, they have 2 seniors going to D1 programs (Purdue, Citadel), a really solid freshman class this year, and next years class is already shaping up to be better (Entrance Exams were last week).
Remember this same coaching staff put 22 kids on the podium including 2 state champs in a 4 year period. Of course people want to kick them while they're down because its easy. Marist is on its way back up, but keep up with your negative garbage that you are casually floating out there like its fact. Not many programs have been relevant since the early 80's like Marist has and will continue to be.
