Why is the IHSA waiting so long?

Why have they not released regional assignments? I do not remember ever waiting this long for them to be released. They Usually come out first week in December

After these three accounted for 30 out of 56 available spots, isn't anyone else peeved about it?

I'm hearing MtC is being re-directed... but nothing would really surprise me at this point.

I agree. Over 90% of the folks at that particular sectional, however, do not.

My buddy said (as skewed as this sounds): our sectional can be tougher than State at some weights.

Boys Dual Team Wrestling Sectional Pairings

In boys dual team wrestling, the regional winners will be paired at the sectional level as follows:

The names of the four regional sites will be alphabetized according to standard IHSA naming protocol and labeled A through D.
The first sectional match (Match 1) will pair the winner of Regional #D and the winner of Regional #C.
The second sectional match (Match 2) will pair the winner of Regional #A and the winner of Regional #B.
The winners of Match 1 and Match 2 will both advance to the state final tournament. The pairings for the state final tournament are outlined above.

So every year we have a bunch of the best teams in the state sitting at home. One year we beat the 3rd place team in a dual by 30 points but we were left at home, losing to the state runners up in the sectional. Or something like that...

Why don’t they wrestle the 2 meets on team sectional Tuesday like they used to?

Why should a team have to travel down state to wrestle one and done.?

4 teams will end up traveling for one meet.

They should just send the top four teams. End of discussion.

Individual is easy, just do it the same way you do for the state tournament (by points for the regional champs) with an additional factor of returning sectional qualifier to cut down on ties.

As for team, you are asking wrestling be treated differently than every other sport (even football is all by wins and opponents wins). I have yet to hear an objective way of seeding the teams. Rob is very good at what he does, but in the end it's opinion (which sometimes varies from Matmen's opinion). No other sport seeds at the sectional level.

That is not true. All 3a and 4a team sports seed either the entire sectional or the sub sectional. That is all done by a coaches vote. I think wrestling could do the same thing in their sectionals.

Those sports also only qualify 4 for the state tournament. The top 4 teams in the state could all be in the same sectional and only one is getting to state, even if you seed them. Each sectional in basketball or baseball also only have like 20-24 teams, not 45-55 like in wrestling.
