Anonymity is a killer. A thread starts by mostly a honest question or wrestling topic. A few fake/anonymous profiles crucify the question or the comment. A little bit of truth (wink wink) mixed in. And the average poster is like no way am I posting or getting involved in this blood bath. It’s sad for a state that is one of the best in wrestling, our message board is the worst. And I will go one step farther Illinois wrestiers overall are the worst supporters of Illinois wrestling. It’s like everyone in Illinois wants to see the other Illinois wrestler fail. I never got that about our state. And because of this about half the state hopes U of I does well in the NCAA tournament and the other half are hoping the year continues status quo.
I’m hoping Illinois wrestling gets at least 7 AA, (not just U of I) would love to see double digits. But too many will be knocking each other off at 197. Brucki, Traxler, Warner, Scultz and Brunner are all AA capable.
Good luck to all Illinois wrestlers this weekend. And let’s get this message board/ forums to actually talk WRESTLING

As much as I'd like to kill anonymity it would really hurt the boards. However, simple adjustments to the rules could make it a lot more workable. One would be No personal attacks.
Paid moderating would help as well. More than any other sport, wrestling forums need reww ally good (notice I didn't say tough or jerky) moderaters.

I will tell you this. The oak forest high school wrestling team is having a Great fundraiser on Saturday. When I say good food, I mean just like the holy Grail of food. That would be the hospitality room. After I was done coaching I always missed those rooms. It is a virtual golf game. If I knew how to post the flyer I would.Always support your local wrestling tournament concession stands!!!
