  • Matt Hooker Fundraiser

Matt Hooker grew up on the South Side of Chicago where he
attended St. Cajetan grade school and Mt. Carmel High School. He
worked for the City of Chicago and resided there as well. He loved
the White Sox and coached wrestling at Mt. Carmel.

Matt was a loving husband and father who was stricken with
terminal cancer in his lungs, brain, spine, lymph nodes and adrenal
glands. Matt battled this disease for three-years, allowing him to see
his children's first steps, hear their first words and feel their love.

Our dear friend, Matt Hooker, lost his courageous battle with cancer
on June 6, 2019 at the young age of 40. This terrible disease robbed
Matt of seeing his children grow up to attend school as well as all the
other life events parents dream about: playing catch, walking his
daughter down the aisle, meeting his children’s children.

While Matt will forever be missed by his friends and family, no one
will suffer the loss of this tremendous man more than his wife Peggy
and their two young children: Frankie, age 5 and Dean, age 3.

We, the board members of the Matt Hooker Children's Fund, in an
effort to support the education of Matt’s children, have organized a
    fundraiser:
