  • Calling in Weights for the Rumble on the River..

Just like last years Rumble by the River, we are allowing you to call in the weights of your wrestlers. All Wrestlers MUST be weighed in by a coach. When your wrestler has registered, you must email me and I will give you the phone number to call in the weight on Saturday June 9th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

LESS THAN TWO WEEKS LEFT TO REGISTER. Online registration ends on June 3rd at Midnight.

We still need around 30 Volunteers... If you would like to Volunteer, please visit the "Volunteers" link on the tournament web site.

Our Host hotel this year is the Best Western. We only have a small block of rooms. If you have not booked your room yet I would do so soon because of the Dubuque River festival being the same weekend. All the Hotel information is on the Tournament web page.

Could you open the wrestler matrix before the registration deadline? I would like to attend, but I also would like to make sure we have decent numbers at our weights since it is a 3 1/2 drive to get there.

True....I see the same question is being ignored on the Iowa boards. At least everyone is equal!

Calling in weights and no matrix is a bit risky considering the cost to drive and lodge out there.

It doesn't help matters that they have not posted the results from last year. My son's club wants to go but I am kind of seeing some red flags. If the folks from Rumble are reading this, a little info will go a long way about now.

Exactly! That was my reason for asking for the matrix. If I remember right last year's numbers for my kid's division were real low. They were available on Track, but no longer.

I even sent an email requesting the matrix with no response. I'm sure this tournament will be a "bust" and poorly run if this is how they deal with the requests I'm seeing. If a tournament is getting good numbers you let everyone know and if not you keep it a secret and hope people roll the dice and come. Fuel, fees, room, and food adds up quickly to go wrestle one or two kids. No matrix no entry!!!!!!

I will say this I would also like to see the matrix as well but if it is run anything like Corn Cob Nationals was run it will be a very well run event. We attended corn cob this year and Brian Keck did a very good job running that event. As I stated I would also like to see matrix but even at corncob I think there were 10 kids in bracket the day before and with walkups there ended up being around 20 kids. Just my two cents

I agree that Brian runs a great tournament. I can only suggest that you look on Trackwrestling at last years "Rumble on the River". I know it doesn't give much information, but what little it does looks kind of bad. While it doesn't show the names of the wrestlers or the brackets, it shows the type of bracket used. The largest I saw for high school age was an 8 man bracket. Most were much smaller. I think we are going anyway because my son wants to go with his club. I don't have very high hopes. Brian please prove me wrong.

rumble on the river wrestler matrix

we really need to see the registeration matrix. we try to make decisions about where to go, and this helps us in the process. If we go, and the numbers are not good that means we never do it again.
