They just changed Montini back to 3a.

I don't think that headline is correct...

At first they had Montini 2a, then they redid it. Providence to 2a.

Sorry. We both jumped the gun a tad...

Montini is the only school subject to the success-factor for wrestling.

Aurora Christian, Montini's minor league affiliate, (jokes) likely moves up from 1A to 2A after this season. To answer a question you had in another thread I believe in order for the success factor to move a program up it has to get a team trophy twice in a cycle. Montini is the only non boundared school to do that in wrestling since the BS rule was established. AC may wind up in 3A before long.

My understanding is that Montini enrollment is actually 1A. They are multiplied up to 2A. They are then success factored up to 3A. Aurora Christian enrollment is 1A. Even after being multiplied they are still 1A. If they win it again they will be success factored up to 2A.

But if they win again and again... They would end up in 3a

Shows you the advantage that recruiting schools have over a non-recruiting public school. Two years and you win a state championship. Need a certain weight class...well you can just go out there and replace it with a stud. It's a shame these private schools can buy their team trophies and then feel like they accomplished something at the end of all of it.

Very insightful post. You are exactly right kids attending private schools don't have to pay tuition, their parents don't make sacrifices to send them to private school. Private schools shouldn't recruit because who cares about them staying open and people's job's that would be lost. They should not feel like they accomplished anything because you're right about their trophy being bought, no hard work goes into it at all. Why can't private schools be like every public school and only use the kids that are from their district? Private schools should take note from public schools and not recruit and not get move ins...
