I agree. Jason Salley is one of the best.

I agree with you on Ray Winesburg. I would say Mike Bondi is up & coming. Definately enjoys doing it. He communicates his calls very effectively so you always know why he made or didn't make a certain call.

I was at Barrington yesterday. Mat 1 to start the day was as brutal as it can get. The ref lost complete control from the start. Refs need to ease their way in to start the Tourney, otherwise it awakens the crowd on that ref all day.

We didn't complain much as kids. My Dad always told us that the way a cook was chosen on the cattle herds from Texas was simple. Whoever complains about the cooking, becomes the cook. Anyone feeling like putting on the pinstripes this season? It is getting harder and harder to find young refs. Cuz there are a LOT of people complaining about the cooking! Not me, btw how was the grub at Barrington?

I haven't been on this site in a year. this caught my curiosity to see who Illinois was exulting.
I generally agree with the poster, unless you're leaving a tournament or event saying "wow we haven't seen a ref that good in years..."
I've known many refs who don't play the "climbing the ladder" game to get ahead, for personal and ethical reasons. Many of which could run rings around some of the state officials we've seen over the years. Why does this happen? Where there are people involved there will be politics involved. It's simply the world we live in... if we all focused more on truth justice and love this world would be a better place starting around us.
