Good to see Lincoln doing well. Always have some tough kids on the mats. Can't wait for the showdown with Chatham.

Ok, here we go. This Friday 6:00pm for the CS8 conference championship. Glenwood v. Lincoln @ Lincoln. Should be a good one.

Quotes like this make the meet that much more exciting. A lot is on the line. Honestly I do like the confidence though..to be a champion you must believe you can win. Hopefully both sides turn out a good crowd and make this a very exciting dual.

I know Glenwood returns their 103 112 119 125 130 140 145 171 and HWT all from a year ago and all had a winning record. If they can get that standout from the 145-160 range they could be very good this year and make a serious run at dual team state.

My vote:
1. Glenwood: Good core group returning, great new offseason academy and weight program.
2. Jacksonville: A lot of solid returners up and down the line-up. I think they only graduated 2-3 kids from a solid squad last year
3. Lincoln: two state medalist returning. They also have a solid 125lber from last year.
4. Springfield: CS8 and regional champs from last year. Have a few returners...Vong (171) the most notable
5. Lanphier: few solid returners
6. Taylorville:
7. Southeast:
8. SHG: good hwt from last year returning

The bottom half to me is a toss up and may be determined by who will fill their line-up.
Predictions like this also make things interesting...

In attempt to get this post back on its original path. I have some weight by weight projections. They are definitely not exact as the season will probably see them at different weights. But I took the regional results from last year, plugged some lincoln standouts in, and then moved everyone up one weight class.

103:
1. Sam Butler CG: This weight is wide open as I am not familiar with any club kids entering this weight from other schools. Info needed

112:
1. Carter SE
2. Douglass CG
This weight is a toss up. Carter was the regional runner up to Kemp last year at 103 while Douglass is a 112lb sectional qualifier from Bartonville Limestone

119:
1. Gunville CG
2. Brody Stewart JVille

125
1. Ty Mahan Tville
2. Joe Burks Lan
3 Joe Murray CG
This weight class is based on last years regional 1st 2nd and 3rd moving up a weight class

130
1.Bobby Lee CG
2 Marcus Farmer Lincoln???
3 Siebert SHS
4 Jacobs Jville
I would look for this weight class to split up as Jacobs and Lee may be heavier. Also Jacobs took 3rd at the regional and had a nice sectional run by placing 4th so he could be projected much higher wherever he weighs in at

135
1. Alex Butler CG
2. Alex Ostermeir TV
3. Brandon Roegge Lan

140
1. Dre Minks TV

145
1. Taborn SE or Haferkamp??
2. Chlarson JV
3. Peralta SHS
4 Ramsden CG
Another weight class up in the air. Ramsden was a 2 seed who had a bad regional so he may be a force at 152 possibly. Taborn will probaby win whatever weight class he falls into.

152
1. DeOrnellas JVille

160
? Up in the air. All the top 152lb from last years SHS Regional were seniors.

171
1. Hickey
2. Vong

189
Noah Murray NO Coppinger????

215
1. Williams SHS
2. Watkins Jville

HWT
1. Casper SHS
2. Johnson SHG

haferkamp stuck taborn last year at the dual in the second pd. it wont be close... coppinger is one of the toughest kids in the state guaranteed... he will put the clampers on anyone in conference at 71 as will hickey

Hats off to Chatham. I knew it would be difficult for Lincoln to overcome their team balance... it always is. Their guys all came out and did what they needed to do to get the job done. Although I don't like the outcome it was a great meet and they deserve credit for winning another conference crown.

I heard SHS beat Lincoln?

I think my predictions at the beginning of the year where Chatham first Springfield second...
